Biography

C.J. Garton is a traditional country singer-songwriter and 6th-generation cattle rancher based out of Oklahoma and Nashville. Known for his Red Dirt, '80s/'90s-style country sound, he is a rancher with Cherokee heritage who lives and works on his family's historic land near Bristow, Oklahoma. He also served in the U.S. Navy.

Influenced by Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Randy Travis, C.J. focuses on honest, working-man storytelling. His popular, nostalgic single “I Ain't Her Horse” has spurred a line dance, and he has had songs cut by artists like Tanya Tucker, David Allan Coe, Daryle Singletary, Kevin Thomas, Ronnie McDowell, Taylor Ray Holbrook, Jimmy Charles, and many more, including television and film credits.
